Malawi man arrested for posting gay rights posters

Malawian police have arrested a man for allegedly putting up posters supporting homosexuality, which is illegal in the southern African nation.

Peter Sawali was charged this week with conduct likely to cause breach of peace, said police spokesman Davie Chingwalu.

Mullen says repealing gay military ban is ‘right thing to do’

WASHINGTON — Repealing the military’s policy banning the service of gays and lesbians in the military “would be the right thing to do,” the nation’s top military officer told a Senate committee Tuesday.
